1. Hunting on Association property is a privilege extended to owners and their immediate family members (spouse, father, mother, son, and daughter) and their guests. Guests will be accompanied by the owner or immediate family member at all times.
2. All hunters shall have a valid state of Hawaii hunting license and shall abide by all federal and state laws that relate to hunting.
3. All hunters (adult and minor hunters) will show proof of liability insurance coverage (liability “umbrella” on their homeowners’ policy or personal liability covering hunting.) Do not take, damage, or disturb any objects of antiquity, prehistoric ruins, or monuments.
4. Hunting is limited to the use of short-range weapons (bow and arrow, shotgun, and/or muzzleloader). The use of rifles is banned except for culling supervised by The Nature Conservancy.
5. Each adult hunter shall sign the Release, Waiver and Indemnity Agreement (Adult Hunter). Minor hunters (hunters between 16 and 18 years of age) shall not be allowed to hunt until a parent or legal guardian has signed the Release, Waiver and Indemnity Agreement (Minor Hunter). The Release, Waiver and Indemnity Agreement will be signed and filed at the KPHA office prior to hunting and annually every July 1st thereafter.
6. Arrangements to reserve KPHA property for hunting will be made through the Association office during normal business hours. Office personnel will ensure that each hunter has a current license, proof of current liability insurance, and has a current release agreement prior to reserving an area and date for hunting.
7. Hunting is prohibited in areas less than 500 yards above the highest lot in Areas I, II, and III. Additionally hunting is prohibited in Area III on Thursday through Saturday.
8. Hunting will be limited to one party per hunting area (Hunting Areas I, II, III) at any one time and the party will be limited to a maximum of four people and three firearms. Hunting for goats, deer and \or pigs with dogs is prohibited.
9. Hunters may not take does or fawns from September 1 to February 28.
10. Vehicles will be allowed only on roads constructed for vehicle use.
11. Objects of antiquity, prehistoric ruins and\or monuments will not be disturbed, damaged or removed.
12. All game taken shall be reported to the Gatekeeper, or designee at the end of the hunt.
13. Violation of any hunting rule will subject the responsible owner to a fine of $300 and loss of hunting privileges for 1 year. The Board of Directors may apply more severe penalties if necessary and will be the sole arbiter of any appeal of any penalty.
